SMP for Women

Men are not the only ones who suffer from balding. Women can also lose their hair due to various events throughout their life. Roughly thirty percent of women experience hair loss at some point in their lifetime.

While most female hair loss is also due to genetic factors, there can be many other reasons behind hair loss in women including but not limited to the following:

  • Hormonal imbalance

  • Pregnancy

  • Post-menopause

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Anemia

  • Skin conditions such as lupus, melanoma, lichen planis and others

  • Certain medications and drugs

  • Trauma including wearing tight hairstyles, braiding, etc.

Women can have an even greater stigma associated with thinning hair but Scalp Micropigmentation is a comfortable, long lasting, undetectable and affordable solution!

 The Key Difference:

When a woman is treated, the primary goal is to reduce the contrast between the hair and the bare scalp.

Erin works through the scalp by repeatedly parting the hair section by section, applying pigment to the scalp in the thinning areas. The end result is effectively a shaded scalp! It becomes much harder to see the difference in color between the hair and the scalp, therefore making the hair appear much thicker.

Scalp Micropigmentation not only gives the illusion of a full head of hair, but it actually stimulates new growth. The repetition of insertions to the dermal layer of skin is known to bring back hair follicles.

When a woman loses her hair, she usually experiences diffuse thinning. This means she loses hair fairly evenly across her entire scalp but is unlikely to go totally bald, and her frontal hairline will almost certainly remain intact. This enables Scalp Micropigmentation to be used very effectively in her favor.

However, not all women are the Prime candidates for this procedure. It works significantly better on brunettes and darker redheads. Although Scalp Micropigmentation is commonly used on blonde men, is not generally recommended for blonde women.

Scalp Micropigmentation is perfect for women who are thinning on the top and crown area of their head.   It is a great option for female clients with alopecia, who want to avoid dealing with constant spot balding.

Scalp Micropigmentation conceals facelift surgeries, due to scarring on the sides and temples of their head from the incision. We will fill and camouflage scarring blending it evenly through the hair.

Each client’s needs are unique for thinning hair but Scalp Micropigmentation may provide the answer.
